Lionheart's is well-known for having lots to do and being a great first event. We are low key with activities geared to all levels. Some of the activities planned are:

  • Cavalry drills as morning warmup (great socialization activity and everyone can participate).
  • A unique and interesting challenge course
  • horse archery (class and practice time)
  • self-guided trail rides (No rental horses available) View Map (marshal required in tow)
  • jousting (intro class and mini-tourney)
  • Proto-Pato Relays (duck ball relays) (FOCOG competition)proposed rules!
  • Naps
  • Classes - prepare for the Emprise of the Black Lion
  • Crest contest (FOCOG competition)
  • Traditional COCKTAIL PARTY! BYOB and cup. We'll provide the fire pit and the NSTIW stories. These are the longest days of the year and there will be a little something for everyone. See the schedule for approximate times.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is the water situation?
A. The site has no water for people. We are bringing in water for horses, which is why pre-registration is required. We are calculating about 15-20 gallons of water per horse per day. If your horse normally needs more or for washing, please supplement our supply with your own. REPEAT there is NO PEOPLE WATER.

Q. What is the paddock situation?
A. Due to two fairly busy roads (Boalch and HWY 202) flanking the site with no existing fencing, hedges, barrier, or distance, we are creating an "Uber-paddock" of hot tape and capped T-posts as a secondary line of defense at night. Your individual paddocks will go inside that. The only exception will be pipe paddocks, which can go outside if you wish. This is a freshly mowed field. Each owner is responsible for checking their area for noxious weeds. We'll check too, but better safe than sorry.

Q. What about the new authorizations?
A. Bring your 2 year authorization card - or your new 4 year authorization cards. We will be checking. If you do not have a 4 year authorization card, we will have the paperwork available if you can find a marshal who knows your riding skills. Otherwise, you are welcome to reauthorize. NEW AUTHORIZATIONS: Please be familiar with the new An Tir Book of Horse. There will be pop quizzes on the participant section.

Q. Can I come earlier than the site opens?
A. Yes, with a few caveats. EMIC will be on site after 9 a.m.
In exchange for getting there early and being able to set up early, I need help making sure that the infrastructure is set up. If you cannot help set up, then arrive after 3 p.m. We'll still be happy to see you!
* The Outer paddock and parking must be laid out before we can set up individual horse paddocks. Horses can be tied to trailers while we do this first task (once a Sr. EqM. is on site.)
* The CLyDe (Clear line of demarcation) for the arenas, signs, paths, tack and hay tents, and water need to be set up before individual camps can be unpacked and setup.

Bring to help: T post pounders, mallets, rakes, and shovels.

Directions

Important: This is an alternate route. There may not be SCA signs until the site entrance.

From I-90 Eastbound:
Take Exit 27 (Snoqualmie/Snoqualmie Falls)
At the freeway off-ramp stop sign go left (under the freeway), and continue east down the hill on North Bend Way
Take the Snoqualmie-Snoqualmie Falls left-turn lane, following signs to Snoqualmie Falls, and turn left onto Meadowbrook Way
Continue downhill past the Snoqualmie Hospital entrance and through the woods
**Note, this is a steep road and has a bend in it. I've driven it twice, it's okay, just slow down a bit.
At the traffic light at SR 202 (Milk Barn on left) continue straight; you will pass Mount Si High School on your left
At the stop sign, turn right onto Park Street. Continue east on Park, past Snoqualmie Elementary School and Centennial Fields Park on your right
Horse trailers take the SCA EXIT, marked as Horse Entrance. Do not go through main gate. Trailers will enter and exit through the same gate.
Someone will direct you where to park. The plan is to go to the end of the row, turn around and park facing out. See the map for clarification. We have enough parking for trailers and related vehicles. Non-equestrian parking is on the other end of the park.

See park link for alternate directions, including off HWY 202
