Announcement | Obligations | back to Equestrian Activities at September Crown

Announcement

From Lady Francesca da Monte, An Tir Kingdom Equestrian Champion:

Riders of An Tir, pray attend these words!

Our most wise and all-powerful sovereigns of the Black Lion Throne, King Owain and Queen Wrenn, have charged all those horsemen and horsewomen of An Tir possessing the ability and the will, to compete for the honor of becoming Their Equestrian Champion for the duration of Their reign and that of Their Heirs, in a very great tournament to be held at September Crown, on the 30th day of August, Anno Societatus XLIII, being in the Gregorian calendar the year 2008.

Their Majesties intend that the contest to determine Their next Champion be open to all comers, and that the noble competitors may strive against one another to show their skill in the arts and weapons of war, and to be challenged to do their best in feats of speed, agility and accuracy, so that all may admire the true Equestrian Champion of An Tir and know that Their Majesties will be well-represented during Their reign.

Riders intending to compete in the An Tir Equestrian Championship are strongly encouraged to post Letters of Intent to the An Tir-Horse mail list so that all may read and enjoy. Competitors must be willing to agree to fulfill the obligations of the Equestrian Champion of An Tir and be willing and able to swear fealty to the Crown of An Tir. Also, combatants must be able to provide proof of Society membership to the List Mistress and must hold a current green Equestrian Authorization Card proving authorization for Mounted Gaming.

Confirmation of authorizations may be verified via the Kingdom of An Tir Lists Database

Riders are advised to be prepared for the following possible elements:

Speed Quintain
Behead the Enemy
Reed Chop
Pigsticking
Ring Tilt
Javelin Throw

HORSES MUST BE PRE-REGISTERED IN ORDER TO ATTEND SEPTEMBER CROWN. You will be asked upon pre-registering if you intend to compete in the Championship; please let us know your intentions so that we may prepare a list of competitors for Their Royal Majesties and to plan for the event.

An Tir! THE KING’S WORD IS LAW!

Yours in Service,

Lady Francesca da Monte
Kingdom Equestrian Champion
