Griffinwood Stables, Olympia
Join
the Barony of Madrone and the Madrone Equestrian Guild as we gather to
banish Winter and herald the new Spring!|
Equestrians and revelers a-foot of all ages are welcome to join in the fun
as we follow a course of challenges and tasks through the sylvan glades and
forest trails around Griffinwood Stables, just outside Olympia, WA.
Vanquish the Ice Knight and Quest for Spring!
Gather flowers and demonstrate your prowess in the handling of your horse or your own feet as you meet the challenges on your quest!
Impress the gatekeeper with your wit as you recite a story, poem, song or joke about spring (extra points if there's a horse in it of course, and extra, extra points if it’s period)!
Again, equestrians and non equestrians alike are encouraged to come and join in the fun...there will be something for everyone.
Eat Drink and Be Merry
On the lawn, there will be lawn games (boules, croquet, etc.) for everyone. Sir Micheal the Tall invites the fighters to come and play too!
The Shire of Wyewood will be running a concession selling yummy food stuffs and lunches. Bring your feast gear! There will be a picnic area available for before or after your trek.
The site is discretely wet but strict adherence to all modern laws is mandatory. Underage drinking or stupidity will not be tolerated. Period containers only, please.
Dance, Dance wherever you may be!
In the arena, after the trails close, there will be demonstrations of equestrian prowess and more goofy games to entertain, amuse and exhibit your mastery of your horse. There are fun and silly contests for everyone! The autocrate team is having way too much fun thinking up fun stuff to do!
So please come and join us as we welcome the new spring and herald the advent of a glorious tournament season! There will also be many opportunities for volunteers and equestrian marshals in training.
Dress for the weather, and wear good sturdy shoes. Sorry, no dogs allowed on site.
NOTE ABOUT CHILDREN:

it, please be sure that all children are closely attended and supervised at
